FAQs: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I live in Holmes Chapel and I cover Holmes Chapel, Goostrey, Chelford, Congleton, Sandbach, Knutsford, Alderley Edge and nearby villages. I would be prepared to travel further afield for bookings that are 7 nights and over. Please note that I am currently car-free so will be coming via public transport or taxi.

For the Overnight service I bring my own bedding, towels and food, so I just need a bed to sleep on and access to basic kitchen facilities, such as a kettle, microwave, fridge, and tableware. I’ll also need use of the bathroom and Wi-Fi. For longer sits I would appreciate a bed and bedding. Other than that, I’m completely self-sufficient! I treat your home with the utmost respect, I do not have visitors, and will leave your home clean and tidy for your arrival.

I’m happy to arrive at whatever time suits you best. If you’re not home when I arrive, please leave a key in a safe place, or with a trusted neighbour, or deliver it to my premises in advance. If I leave before you return, I’ll make sure the key is safely returned, either by placing it back in the agreed safe spot or handing it to your neighbour, or you may collect the keys from my premises after the sit.

I provide a premium pet sitting and house sitting service and don’t have another job that I go to. During my Overnight (14 hour) service your pets will not be unattended, and my 24-Hour service guarantees that I will be with your pets for at least 20 hours out of the 24-Hour period. I allow a 3-4 hour time window in case I need to attend a personal appointment or grocery shopping.  However, should your pet need constant care that is also available, the cost would depend on the pet’s needs.

Immediate action and communication
In the event of an emergency, I will remain calm and assess the situation, then contact you right away. If you’re unavailable, I’ll get in touch with your designated emergency contact to discuss the best course of action.

Veterinary care
Your pet’s safety is my top priority. I will contact your regular vet first, as they are familiar with your pet’s history. If they’re not available and it’s an emergency, I’ll arrange to transport your pet to the nearest 24-hour emergency clinic to ensure they receive out of hours care. Please note that I am currently car-free so your pet will be transported either by pet taxi or by your emergency contact’s vehicle.

Authorisation and payment
Before the booking begins, I’ll ask you to complete a veterinary release form that allows me to authorise treatment if needed.

Pet first aid and preparedness
I am trained in basic pet first aid including CPR and carry a kit to handle minor issues like cuts until professional help can be reached.

Aftercare and updates
Once the situation is under control, I’ll keep you informed with regular updates about your pet’s condition, any required follow-up care, and any changes to their usual routine.

Your pet’s wellbeing is always my highest priority. You can feel confident that I’ll respond quickly, act responsibly, and communicate clearly if anything unexpected happens.

If you book the Overnight or 24-hour dog sitting services then dog walks are automatically included. I don’t currently do dog walking only.

I offer a generous refund policy as I know that plans can change. When booking extended sits I need a 25% booking deposit to secure the dates. If you cancel the booking, the deposit will be refunded in full if another customer can fill the same dates. If you cancel and I’m unable to fill the dates the deposit is non-refundable. The remainder of the fee is required before or on the day that the sit commences.
